The Mets humiliated the Yankees, 12-3, in the series finale between the two teams in The Bronx to secure just the second Subway Series sweep in club history. Francisco Lindor hit two of the Mets’ five home runs, and Pete Alonso, Tyrone Taylor and Mark Vientos mashed one apiece.

The Mets went 4-0 against their city rivals this year, the first time they swept the Yanks in a season series since they won all four games against them in 2013. This season, the Mets outscored the Yankees, 36-14.
Overall, the Mets are 66-80 against the Yankees in the regular season. If you add in other games – the 2000 World Series, spring training, the old Mayor’s Trophy Game, et cetera, the Mets are 114-150-2 all-time against the Yanks.
An announced crowd of 48,760 was at the game, the highest-paid attendance at Yankee Stadium this season.
