Los Angeles Rams Beat New York Jets

The Jets (4-11) started fast and held the ball for nearly an entire quarter but could not convert on a pair of timely fourth downs that resulted in 9 points and fell to the Rams (9-6), 19-9, at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams picked up where they left off last week at Jacksonville as the Jets scored first on an 11-yard strike from Rodgers to Adams, who leaped in the back of the end zone to secure the pinpoint pass over Rams safety Kam Curl. The touchdown, which capped a 14-play, 99-yard drive in the first quarter, was No. 499 of Rodgers’ career and the 82nd to Adams, tying Dan Marino and Mark Clayton for the third-most touchdowns for a QB-WR duo in league history.

The Jets’ fast start in the coldest home game since the 2009 season continued as S Tony Adams intercepted Rams QB Matt Stafford, his first in the last six games, on the ensuing possession. That set up Rodgers & Co. on their 24-yard line, but the offense gave LA the ball back on the New York 33-yard line 4 plays later. Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich elected go for it on fourth-and-1, but Breece Hall was stopped for no gain and a turnover on downs.

On the ensuing drive, Rodgers turned the ball over for the first time since Week 13. Curl punched the ball out from Rodgers’ hands and rookie edge rusher Jared Verse recovered on the Jets’ 21-yard line. Stafford’s touchdown pass to TE Tyler Higbee put the visitors up, 16-9, and the Rams later added a field goal with 5:22 remaining to seal the game.

Will Hulk Hogan Enter Politics?

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan hinted at possibly serving a role in President-elect Donald Trump‘s cabinet during an appearance on FOX News.
“You know something, you’d be great to run the President’s Council on Physical Fitness,” Trump told Hogan backstage at Madison Square Garden during Trump’s sold out rally.

“I was talking about nutrition and how many foreign countries won’t even let their people eat the food that we eat here in America,” Hogan said.
“It’s so bad and it’s poisoned a generation of kids,’ he added. “And at the end of the day, we started talking about physical fitness.”

Hogan claimed Trump suggested he’d be a great fit for the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.
“And it would be great if you got all the kids in America in shape,” Hogan said.

Davante Adams Winning Formula

The Jaguars and Jets have both lost several close games in 2024. But, as Sunday’s game entered the fourth quarter with New York up by one point, something had to give.
In a game that meant very little for the standings, the Jets found a fourth-quarter way to win as receiver Davante Adams and QB Aaron Rodgers rolled back the clock. Adams ended up with 198 yards and two touchdowns and set up Breece Hall’s game-winning touchdown run, final score, 32-25.

One unexpected source of offense was Rodgers’ legs. Rodgers, who ended up with 289 passing yards and three touchdowns, was also the Jets’ leading rusher as he racked up 45 yards on scrambles, including three first downs with a season-long 18-yarder.

Adams went without a catch in the first half with one deep ball off his fingertips and another throw dropped over the middle. However, Rodgers found him on the first play of the second half and he had five catches, including a touchdown in the third quarter. The touchdown was the 100th touchdown catch of Adams’ career and No. 101 came on his deep catch from Rodgers to give him his second straight 100-yard game.

Saints Beat Giants 14-11

The Giants dropped their eighth straight game on Sunday, losing to the New Orleans Saints, 14-11.
Drew Lock and the offense struggled for most of the day, but the defense kept the Giants in the game until the very end. Lock connected with Malik Nabers for a 22-yard catch to set the Giants up on the one-yard line, Tyrone Tracy punched it in, and Nabers caught the two-point conversion to make it a 14-11 game with 4:11 left.

The defense got another stop to get the ball back, but Lock threw an interception on 4th-and-nine. Yet again, New York’s defense forced a quick three-and-out to give Lock and the offense one more chance. The QB drove 56 yards in just over a minute to set up the game tying field goal, but Graham Gano‘s 35-yard attempt was blocked.

Lock finished the game 20-for-45 with 204 yards passing, one interception, and 59 yards rushing. Nabers had five receptions for 79 yards and Tracy ran for 45 yards with a TD.

Miami Dolphins Defeat New York Jets in Overtime

The New York Jets blew an eight-point, fourth-quarter lead and lost 32-26 in overtime to the Miami Dolphins.

Minutes after the New York Giants lost to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at MetLife on a blocked field goal. Their co-tenants at the New Jersey venue, the New York Jets, matched them with a brutal loss of their own to the Miami Dolphins in South Beach.

Jason Sanders kicked a 52-yard field goal as time expired to tie the game and Tua Tagovailoa drove the Miami Dolphins to the winning touchdown in overtime of a 32-26 victory.
The winning score came on a TD pass of 10 yards from Tagovailoa to Jonnu Smith. The tight end had all three of his catches in overtime.

Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are officially out of the playoffs.

Seahawks Beat the Jets 26-21

The Seattle Seahawks didn’t have a perfect day, and neither did their opponent, the New York Jets. But in the end, Geno Smith’s homecoming in New York was a triumph for the Seahawks, as they gutted out a 26-21 win over a Jets team that started feisty but ended sad.

Both teams had big plays. For starters, we finally saw the Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams connection that was promised after the Jets traded for Adams. The duo found each other on several plays, including a big first-half touchdown. On the other side of the ball, special teams players for the Seahawks were collectively out to lunch for most of the first and second quarters, fumbling three kickoffs (recovering two) and allowing the Jets to score on a 99-yard TD return. The Jets had 21 points by halftime.

But it seemed like the Seahawks might have a little magic in them today. Midway through the second quarter, with the Jets at the Seahawks’ 10-yard line, Rodgers threw an interception right to Seattle DE Leonard Williams. After a quick juggle (it was just the second INT of his career) the big man ran it all the way back for a touchdown. The extra point was blocked, but the Seahawks managed to score a field goal to get within five points.

After halftime, both teams had trouble scoring, but the Seahawks finally broke through with around five minutes left in the game. The offense drove them ahead 26-21, and in the final minute, the defense stopped the Jets on fourth down. The Jets didn’t score a single point after halftime.

New York Giants Fall to Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys took down the New York Giants, 27-20, on Thanksgiving Day.
Dallas was in control for much of Thursday’s game. It took a 13-7 lead in the second quarter when it got a pick-six off a screen pass by New York and never looked back.

On offense, the Cowboys controlled the game on the ground and got 112 yards and a touchdown from Rico Dowdle. Cooper Rush completed 21 of 36 passes for 195 yards with a touchdown and no turnovers.
The Cowboys sacked Drew Lock six times. They forced one interception and a forced fumble. Lock finished the day completing 21 of 32 passes for 178 yards with no passing touchdowns and the pick-6.

The Giants showed some signs of life late in the fourth quarter. After forcing the Cowboys to punt, Drew Lock led them on an eight-play, 80-yard drive that ended with him rushing for an 8-yard score to make it a 27-20 game with 2:18 remaining.

With the win, the Cowboys improved to 5-7 as they’ve won their last two games to keep their faint playoff hopes alive. The Giants, meanwhile, moved to 2-10 as they start to move their focus toward the 2025 season.

Yankees’ Slugger Aaron Judge Wins His 2nd MVP

Aaron Judge won his second career American League MVP award.
The New York Yankees star was voted the unanimous winner by the 30-person BBWAA voting body, his first time receiving every first-place vote.

The voting was also unanimous for second place, with Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals sweeping the second-place votes. Judge’s teammate Juan Soto, Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles and José Ramírez of the Cleveland Guardians all received third-place votes.
Judge joins Mickey Mantle (1956) as the only Yankees players to win MVP unanimously.
It was an extraordinary season for Judge, who posted career highs in all three slash line numbers at .322/.458/.701 while clubbing 58 home runs, four short of his AL season record and what many consider to be the clean record.

Los Angeles Dodger Shohei Ohtani won the National League MVP award, garnering all 30 first-place votes for a unanimous decision.

Giants Dominated By Buccaneers, 30-7

Benching Daniel Jones didn’t end the Giants’ losing streak, but it did help the Buccaneers put an end to theirs.
The Bucs ran for four touchdowns and shut the Tommy DeVito-led Giants offense out for the first 30 minutes of play at MetLife Stadium. The second half saw the Giants find some offensive momentum, but the game was already in Tampa’s pocket and it ended as a 30-7 Bucs win.

The victory came after four straight losses for the Bucs and it leaves them with a 5-6 record.
Baker Mayfield was 24-of-30 for 294 yards and he ran for a touchdown. Mayfield suffered a stinger in the fourth quarter, but returned to the game after a quick trip to the sideline medical tent.

DeVito was 21-of-31 for 189 yards and he ran seven times for 32 yards in his first start of the season. He also took some serious hits while being sacked four times, but only missed one snap after needing medical attention in the fourth quarter.
That should leave him on track to play against the Cowboys when the Giants try to end their six-game losing streak.

Mike Tyson Talks About Jake Paul Fight

Hall of Famer and former undisputed world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson broke his silence on his loss to social media influencer Jake Paul during an eight-round boxing exhibition as part of Netflix‘s live controversial streaming debut for the sport.
“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for the fight. No regrets to get in the ring one last time.”
“I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in the hospital and had to get healthy: so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for.”
Jake Paul, 27, scored 80-72, 79-73, 79-73, over Tyson, 58, during the highly-anticipated event at AT&T Stadium. Fans were livid by the fight itself, which many online deemed to be boring and a cash-grab, as well as Netflix’s streaming issues throughout the night, with the service trending as many customers experienced buffering issues.

Tyson, the youngest boxer to ever win a heavyweight title and one of the most dominant ever in the weight class, went 50-6-2 (44 KO) in 58 career professional fights prior to the Netflix loss. Paul has a 10-1 record in 11 professional boxing matches.
