Super Bowl 60 will be a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX; the Patriots will take on the Seahawks.
The two teams met in Super Bowl XLIX, when New England narrowly escaped, 28-24, thanks to Malcolm Butler’s game-sealing interception on the goal line. Seattle’s decision to not run the ball in for a potential touchdown with Marshawn Lynch went down in NFL history.
Now, the Seahawks will have a chance for some long-awaited get-back against New England.

New York Giants Interviewing Head Coach Candidates

The New York Giants’ reported list of head coaching candidates includes former Las Vegas Raiders coach and Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce.

Pierce, 47, who started at middle linebacker for the Giants during the final five seasons of his nine-year playing career, was included on a list of candidates that also includes former NFL head coach Mike McCarthy, Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula.
Pierce went 4-13 during his only season as the Raiders’ full-time head coach in 2024, having previously gone 5-4 as an interim during the final nine games of the 2023 season. The former linebacker was hired full-time after an impressive late season run, which included an upset of the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day.

The Raiders, however, failed to duplicate that success during a 4-13 season in 2024, which included a 10-game losing streak.
The Giants fired former head coach Brian Daboll in November after a 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears, which saw them blow a 20-10 fourth quarter lead.

NYC Approves Licenses For Three New Casinos

The New York State Gaming Commission has unanimously approved licenses for three new casinos in New York City. The decision, made on Monday, paves the way for Bally’s in the Bronx, Hard Rock Metropolitan Park near Citi Field, and Resorts World near the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens to begin development.
According to Gaming Commission Chairman Bryan O’Dwyer, the licensing fees are expected to generate $1.5 billion for the state.

The Hard Rock Metropolitan Park, a significant part of the approved projects, is a partnership between Hard Rock International and New York Mets owner Steve Cohen. The $8.1 billion project will transform 50 acres of parking lots around Citi Field into a large-scale entertainment and gaming complex.

The complex will feature a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, a Hard Rock Live concert center, multiple restaurants and bars, a retail store, and a 25-acre public park. Jim Allen, CEO of Hard Rock International, expressed excitement about extending their reputation as a world-class entertainment company to Queens.

New York Giants Upset Cowboys, 34-17

The New York Giants used a fast start, explosive plays through the air and a strong second half to pull away from the Dallas Cowboys for a 34–17 win on Sunday — a result that means they can select no higher than No. 3 in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Giants win ended Cowboy Dak Prescott’s streak of 14 victories in a row over the Giants, the second-longest against an opponent since 1950.

The Cowboys finished 7-9-1 in Brian Schottenheimer’s first season, the first time with consecutive losing seasons since three consecutive 5-11 seasons from 2000-02. The Giants, who beat the Raiders last week, finish 4-13.

Prescott played only the first half of the mostly meaningless game. He went 7-of-11 for 70 yards, giving him 4,552 yards for the season.

The Giants outgained the Cowboys 380 to 286.Tyrone Tracy rushed for 103 yards, the Giants’ first 100-yard rusher since he did it in Week 10 of the 2024 season.

Jaxson Dart completed 22 of 32 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns, with Gunner Olszewski catching eight for 102.

Jets Crushed By Bills to Finish Awful Season

The New York Jets closed out their season with a five-game losing streak, ending with a rout by the Buffalo Bills, 35-8, at Highmark Stadium on Sunday.

The Jets had no answer for the Bills, finding themselves in a big hole at halftime, 21-0. From there, it was easy pickings for Josh Allen and company.
The despair continues for the long-suffering fans of the Jets as the team will miss the playoffs for the 15th straight year.

The Jets finished with another lowly record, 3-14—tied for worst in the league.
Despite the positivism they exuded during training camp, they started the season with a seven-game losing streak and never recovered.

New York was in the bottom half of the league in defensive statistics, including allowing 29.5 points per game. Even the hiring of coach Aaron Glenn, who is known for his defensive acumen, was not enough to propel the team to new heights and end its postseason drought.
Now, as usual, it’s back to the drawing board for New York. At this point, the front office might want to resort to black magic to lift the curse.

Giants Break Losing Streak, Beat Raiders

The New York Giants defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34-10 on Sunday, getting the club’s third win of the season and stopping a nine-game losing streak. The Raiders now have a leg up on the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 draft.

Jaxson Dart ran for two touchdowns, Deonte Banks returned a kickoff for another score, and the New York Giants snapped a nine-game losing streak with the road victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, who extended theirs to 10 consecutive outings. Mike Kafka picked up his first victory since becoming interim head coach.

Dart completed 22 of 30 passes for 207 yards and ran for two touchdowns. Dart now has 22 total touchdowns (13 passing, nine rushing) in 11 starts. With one game to go, the No. 25 overall draft pick trails only Charlie Conerly (27 in 1948) and Daniel Jones (26 in 2019) for the most total touchdowns in Giants history by a rookie quarterback.

The 3-13 Giants wrap up the 2025 season with a visit from the Cowboys, who improved to 7-8-1 with a 30-23 victory over the Commanders on Christmas Day. The Giants lost the first leg of the season series in a wild overtime finish at AT&T Stadium in Week 2.

Wendy’s Modernizing Some Stores

Wendy’s plans to close hundreds of its restaurants over the next few months in an effort to boost its profit and make its remaining stores more appealing.
The Dublin, Ohio-based chain said during a conference call with investors that it planned to begin closing restaurants soon. The company said it expected a “mid-single-digit percentage” of its U.S. stores to be affected, but it didn’t give any more details.

Wendy’s currently has 6,011 U.S. restaurants. If 5% of those locations were impacted, it would mean 300 store closures.
The new round of closures comes on top of the closure of 240 U.S. Wendy’s locations in 2024. At the time, Wendy’s said that many of the 55-year-old chain’s restaurants are simply out of date.

Patriots Embarrass Jets, 42-10

The New England Patriots were dominant throughout its matchup with the New York Jets, and brought themselves just one more win away from wrapping up the division with a 42-10 victory at MetLife Stadium.

The Patriots were always going to win this game, and the majority of people thought they’d do it handedly, but could anyone have expected something this uneven?

New England entered the locker room at halftime leading in just about everything over New York: total yards (344-77), first downs (23-3), turnovers forced (1-0), time of possession (20:17-9:43) and points (35-3), and things didn’t improve very much coming out of the break.

The Jets ran back-to-back fake punts on their first possession of the second half, with the second failing miserably and the game was lopsided until the end.
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye set a career high throwing five passing touchdowns against the New York Jets in a nearly perfect performance.

Oscar Mayer Launching a Plant-Based Hot Dog

Kraft Heinz has introduced Not Hot Dogs and Not Sausages, marking the first plant-based offerings from Oscar Mayer. These new products aim to cater to the growing demand for flavorful plant-based foods in the United States.
The plant-based market in the United States is predicted to surge from $8.3 billion in 2023 to $19 billion by 2030. Despite this growth, plant-based hot dogs and sausages remain relatively untapped due to dissatisfaction with existing options’ taste and texture. In response, Kraft Heinz has launched new Oscar Mayer Not Hot Dogs and Not Sausages, available in Bratwurst and Italian sausage flavors, to fill this gap in the market.
The introduction of Oscar Mayer Not Hot Dogs and Not Sausages represents the Kraft Heinz’s dedication to swiftly bringing innovative plant-based products to market. This launch adds to their expanding plant-based portfolio, which includes Kraft Not Mac&Cheese, Kraft Not Cheese Slices, and Not Mayo. Looking ahead, The Kraft Heinz Not Company plans to enter additional categories and expand internationally.
