The New York Jets upset the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles suffered the ugly 20-14 loss against the Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. 

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts’ tossed an interception late in the fourth quarter that set up a go-ahead touchdown by Breece Hall. 

Hurts completed 28 of his 45 passes for 281 yards and one touchdown to D’Andre Swift. He also had a rushing touchdown in the loss. 

Despite playing without three of their top four cornerbacks, the Jets defense showed just how elite it is with the stunning win over the Eagles. The win for the Jets is the team’s first against the Eagles in franchise history. 

With their second consecutive victory, the Jets moved to 3-3 heading into the bye week and knocked the Eagles (5-1) back in a league that has no unbeaten teams.

“It’s a big win,” Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh said. “They’re the NFC Champs. We took the AFC Champs to the wire, we beat Buffalo. Probably let one slip away with the Patriots, but it is what it is. Dallas game is what it is. I think we’ll always be in all these games. I think we can go toe-to-toe with anybody.” 

Sonic puts together all-new versions of a seasonal treat with the introduction of two new-recipe Trick or Treat Blasts for the Halloween season.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared on ESPN with Pat McAfee after undergoing surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon.

In the interview, Rodgers addressed his future by saying, “Give me the timetables, give me all the things you think can should or will happen. All I need is that one extra percent of motivation. So give me your doubts, your prognostications, then watch what I do.”

Rodgers would not rule out returning this season, saying “anything is possible” when asked directly about the possibility.

Rodgers’ hopes fly in the face of medical reality with an eight-to-12 month timeline expected for recovery.

He called Monday “one of the toughest 24-hour stretches in my life” with a “lot of sadness, a lot of tears.”

Rodgers went down after four offensive snaps into the season-opening 22-16 overtime win vs. the Buffalo Bills.

Rodgers, 39, thanked those who had reached out to him following the injury and hinted he will be back, posting “The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again.” 

The New York Jets pulled out a dramatic 31-21 victory over the Denver Broncos at Empower Field on Sunday, but it was not easy. The Jets needed a 39-yard fumble return for a touchdown by cornerback Bryce Hall after linebacker Quincy Williams knocked the ball out of Russell Wilson’s hands to secure the victory.

“It was gritty,” Jets coach Robert Saleh said. “It wasn’t pretty.”

There were no style points for the Jets in this one, but the win moves them to 2-3, ending a three-game losing streak and keeping hope alive that they can make something of this season even without Aaron Rodgers.

Running back Breece Hall provided most of the offense, rushing for 177 yards, including a 72-yard touchdown, on the same field where his season ended a year ago with a torn ACL.

Hall carried a Jets offense that went 0-for-5 in red-zone trips, settling for five Greg Zuerlein field goals.

McDonald’s announced the debut of the new Chicken Big Mac at a limited number of participating locations.

The Chicken Big Mac features two crispy chicken patties, Big Mac sauce, fresh lettuce, processed cheddar cheese, and tangy pickles on a freshly toasted sesame seed bun.

McDonald’s previously tested the Chicken Big Mac at select test locations in the Miami area back in the summer of 2022. No  word yet from the brand on a wide launch plan for the US market.

The New York Giants fell to 1-4 on Sunday with a 31-16 loss to the 4-1 Miami Dolphins. 

The Giants also lost quarterback Daniel Jones to a neck injury when he was sacked by Andrew Van Ginkel in the fourth quarter. That was the sixth time Jones was sacked on Sunday and the 28th time this season. 

Coach Brian Daboll said Jones was “getting hit quite a bit.” Daboll did add that Jones told him he would be “OK.”

“Overall we’ve gotta do a better job offensively,” Daboll said. “We’re not doing a good enough job.”

The Dolphins scored touchdowns of 76 and 69 yards en route to compiling 524 yards of total offense. Miami now has 2,568 total yards of offense in five games, most in NFL history.

The Giants still don’t have an offensive touchdown in the first half of games this season, but they do have a touchdown thanks to Jason Pinnock’s 102-yard score on an interception return. The Giants still trailed at the half, 17-10. They have been outscored 94-19 in the first half of games this season, with four Graham Gano field goals being their only offensive points.

Following a successful test run, KFC today announced it will launch new Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets nationwide.

Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets feature 100 percent white meat chicken, hand-breaded with KFC’s unique Original Recipe of 11 herbs and spices and fried up until crispy and golden.

Starting at $3.49, KFC Nuggets can be enjoyed as a 5-, 8-, 12- or 36-piece option. Combo options are also available, featuring Secret Recipe Fries, a biscuit and a medium drink.

The new nuggets can be paired with your choice of KFC dipping sauces, including KFC Sauce, Honey BBQ, Classic Ranch, Honey Mustard or Buffalo Ranch.

For the fifth time in six years, the New York Mets are in the market for a manager.

Buck Showalter was fired after a disappointing season in which baseball’s highest-spending team tumbled from contention by midsummer.

The 67-year-old Showalter said before the 2023 finale against Philadelphia that he will not return next year, and a few minutes later the Mets announced the club had decided on the change. 

New York plans to introduce David Stearns as president of baseball operations on Monday, placing him above general manager Billy Eppler. Showalter’s departure with a season remaining on his three-year contract clears the way for Stearns to pick the next manager.

Showalter is 1,726-1,665 (.509) in 22 seasons as a big league manager with the Yankees, Diamondbacks, Rangers, Orioles and Mets — guiding all those organizations to the playoffs besides Texas.

He’s won four Manager of the Year awards — tied with Hall of Famers Tony La Russa and Bobby Cox for most all-time — and is the only skipper to win the prize with four different teams.

Showalter ranks 19th in major league history in wins, but Gene Mauch (1,902) is the only manager with more who never won a pennant.

The Seahawks cruised to a 24-3 win over the Giants on ‘Monday Night Football.’

The Seattle Seahawks (3-1) defense had been much-maligned to start the season, but they unleashed fury on the hapless New York Giants (1-3) and thrashed them 24-3 at Metlife Stadium. 

Daniel Jones was sacked a whopping 10 times, threw two interceptions, and lost a fumble. 

Devon Witherspoon had an epic night, and I mean an epic night. The No. 5 overall pick had 7 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 pass defensed, and a back-breaking pick-six on Jones that shut the door on a Giants comeback. Bobby Wagner, Jordyn Brooks, and Uchenna Nwosu each had two sacks, and the Giants offense had just 248 yards of total offense.

The damper on things was the early concussion to Jamal Adams following his return from his quad injury. Several other Seahawks suffered injuries, including quarterback Geno Smith, who at least returned in the 2nd half after hurting his knee in the 2nd quarter. 

Seattle looked dreadful for the most part against the Los Angeles Rams on opening day, and have since rattled off three straight wins.

Just when you thought the Chiefs were going to march into MetLife Stadium and cruise to a victory, the Jets threw a vicious counterpunch to make for an interesting “Sunday Night Football” game.

Embattled New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson played the best game of his NFL career on Sunday night at MetLife Stadium, but he lamented the snap that got away.

Wilson fumbled a shotgun snap at midfield with 7:24 remaining in the fourth quarter — the Jets’ final play in their 23-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Afterward, Wilson spoke briefly to the entire team in the locker room, taking responsibility for the defeat.

“To be driving right there and to drop a snap — I cannot do that,” Wilson told reporters. “I lost us that game, and I can’t do that.”

Several teammates consoled Wilson, whose faux pas occurred at a critical time — facing a three-point deficit late — against the defending Super Bowl champions. Still, his overall performance was a breakthrough that might have saved his job.
