Jets Fall to Patriots, 15-10

The Patriots beat the Jets 15-10 at a rainy MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
It wasn’t pretty, but Mac Jones and the Patriots managed to land enough punches on offense to ground the Jets and a woeful offense commanded by Zach Wilson.
The Patriots are now 1-2 this season, while the Jets fall to 1-2.
It wasn’t exactly a riveting performance from Mac Jones and the Patriots offense, but the Patriots’ defense feasted against an impotent Jets offense that more or less operated without a functioning game.

But regardless of whatever qualifiers you want to toss out there, the Patriots did enough to get in the win column with a 15-10 victory against a deeply flawed Jets roster without Aaron Rodgers at the helm on offense.
How bad was Zach Wilson and the Jets’ offense?
The Jets generated just 171 total net yards, with most coming in the fourth quarter.

New York had a chance to either tie or win the game in the closing minutes in the fourth quarter, but Matthew Judon closed things out with a safety against Wilson.

49ers Dominate the Giants 30-12

Whether it was Deebo Samuel, George Kittle or Christian McCaffrey, the San Francisco 49ers wreaked havoc on the New York Giants with yards after the catch or contact.
The Niners (3-0) willed those yards toward a dominating 30-12 home victory over the Giants at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Thursday Night Football to remain undefeated this season.
Niners’ quarterback Brock Purdy completed 25 of 37 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns, while Samuel hauled in six receptions for 129 yards and a TD. Christian McCaffrey rumbled his way to 85 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Samuel dragging a few Giants defenders for extra yardage in the fourth quarter, followed by the star wideout securing a 27-yard touchdown a few plays later not only capped the 49ers’ domination of Big Blue, but it typified just how much San Francisco manhandled New York.
The Giants (1-2), who were without star running back Saquon Barkley (high ankle sprain), struggled to convert third downs, while their defense didn’t have many answers for the Niners’ high-powered offense on third downs either.

Cowboys Crush New York Jets 30-10

In the New York Jets’ second game of the 2023 NFL season, in a sunny and hot Arlington Texas, the Jets were dominated by the Dallas Cowboys, 30 – 10.
The first half action was dominated by the Cowboys, who moved the ball at will against the vaunted Jets defense. Only a long catch-and-run touchdown pass from Zach Wilson to Garrett Wilson saved the Jets from being down 15 points at halftime.
With the score Cowboys 18, Jets 10, the Jets took over on offense at their own 25 to start the second half. They promptly went three and out, as the Jets offense continued to look overmatched against the Cowboys defense. The ensuing Jets punt gave the Cowboys a short field as they started their first drive of the second half at their own 42 yard line. The Cowboys took advantage.

The Jets could do nothing and after another Jets punt the Cowboys methodically moved downfield before settling for a short field goal and a three score lead at 27 – 10 early in the fourth quarter. At this point the game was all but over.
The Cowboys intercepted Zach Wilson on the next Jets drive, giving them the ball deep in Jets territory yet again. Another Cowboys field goal made the score 30 -10 in favor of the Cowboys midway through the fourth quarter and the rest was garbage time.
